Introduction
After a three-month break, I'm finally back with new content for my channel. In this video, I wanted to get back into the swing of things by doing something fun and creative. That's why I decided to do a random drawing generator video. It's always entertaining and often results in some hilariously bad drawings. So, let's dive in and see what we come up with!
Taking a Break and Dealing with Roommate Issues
Before we jump into the drawing generator, I wanted to briefly explain why I took such a long break. Initially, it was meant to be a three-week break to work on my school art portfolio. However, unexpected roommate issues arose, and it became a more prolonged break than anticipated. But, I won't bore you with the details. Let's focus on the positive: I'm back and ready to create some art!
Getting Back into the Swing of Things with a Random Drawing Generator Video
One of the things I love most about doing random drawing generator videos is that they push me to be more creative and think outside of my usual drawing preferences. It's a fantastic way to challenge myself and explore new ideas. Today, I'll be using an app called "Wanna Draw" by the talented artist, Oddity. If you're interested, be sure to check out her incredible work on Instagram.
Choosing an Original Character for the Drawing
The first prompt from the random drawing generator is to draw an original character wearing an outfit made of flowers. I have a few original characters in mind, but I've decided to go with one called Luna. Luna is an edgy, goth-like character, and creating an outfit made of flowers is quite challenging for her. Let's see how this turns out!
Creating the Character's Outfit Made of Flowers
To capture Luna's discomfort and shyness, I'm going to draw her in a slightly nervous pose. I want to emphasize that wearing an outfit made of flowers is not something she would typically choose. The sketch is coming along well, and I'm excited to add some clean lines and bring the character to life. Oh, and don't forget the eyebrows! They make a significant difference in conveying expressions.
Sketching and Adding Details to the Drawing
Now that the basic sketch is complete, it's time to add more details and give Luna a more refined look. I'm using a Wacom tablet, which makes the process feel even more professional. After getting the base colors in place, it's time to work on the shadows and highlights. I apologize if the colors appear different on the screen; my monitor is lighter than my tablet. Hopefully, it still looks okay for you.
Overcoming Challenges and Learning from the Process
Artistic challenges are part of the creative process, and in this video, I faced a few unexpected ones. During filming, I had some unwanted guests drop by, causing some interruption. But, life happens, and I'm taking it in stride. I'm in my comfy attire, with my hedgehog slippers on, ready to draw. It's essential to adapt and keep going, even in less-than-ideal circumstances.
Moving on to the Next Prompt: a Vampire with a Mini-Me
For the next drawing prompt, the random generator suggests making a vampire with their very own mini-me. How adorable is that? I immediately think of the character Dracula from Hotel Transylvania and his iconic cloak. I want to depict the vampire in a similar pose, looking down at their mini-me. Let's bring this idea to life!
Sketching and Refining the Vampire and Mini-Me Drawing
I start with a rough sketch of the vampire, focusing on the shape and pose. The mini-me will be a cute, squishy character, and I can't resist sketching it in a more detailed manner. After refining the sketch, it's time to add clean lines and bring the characters to life. I must say, the mini-me looks absolutely adorable!
Adding Base Colors, Highlights, and Shadows
Now that the clean lines are complete, it's time to add base colors to both the vampire and the mini-me. To create a visually striking scene, I've chosen a dark blue color for the vampire, which contrasts well with the mini-me. Shadows and highlights will add depth and dimension to the drawing, making them more visually appealing.
Adding Personality with Expressions and Poses
To give the characters more personality, I decide to make the vampire's expression an intense death stare directed at the mini-me. It adds a touch of humor and playfulness to the drawing. Sometimes, it's the expressions and poses that make a drawing truly memorable and enjoyable.
Moving on to the Final Prompt: a Giraffe in Chibi Style
For our last drawing, the random generator wants us to create a chibi-style giraffe. Chibi drawings are known for their cuteness, so this should be fun. In my mind, I imagine a round and adorable giraffe, and I start drawing based on that image. It may resemble an apatosaurus at first, but with some additional details, it will soon look like a giraffe.
Creating a Cute and Round Giraffe Drawing
I refine the sketch, focusing on making it look more like a giraffe. Adding the details and filling in the colors helps solidify the giraffe's appearance. Despite some initial concerns, the final result is undeniably cute and captures the essence of the prompt. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out!
Conclusion: Reflecting on the Return and Future Plans
