Introduction

Welcome to Goldwing Docs, where we have all the answers to your Goldwing-related questions. In this episode, we will be addressing various queries and providing helpful solutions. From understanding error codes to tackling installation issues, we've got you covered. So, let's dive right into it and find the answers you've been searching for.

Understanding the 19 Code on GL1800

Our first question comes from Danny Thompson, who is experiencing the 19 code on his 2012 GL1800. This code indicates a pulse generator issue. Danny wants to know if it's easy to swap out the pulse generator without tearing down the bike from the top. In the service manual, it is mentioned to go down from the top and remove the air filter. However, this method is only applicable if you have ABS on your bike. If you have a non-ABS bike, you can access the pulse generator by removing the front lower cover and plastic upper cover. It's important to determine whether your bike has ABS or not to avoid unnecessary teardowns.

Swapping out the Pulse Generator

For those with non-ABS Goldwing 1800 bikes, swapping out the pulse generator is relatively straightforward. Start by removing the front lower cover and plastic upper cover. This will grant you access to the pulse generator located in the front. However, if your bike has ABS, the process becomes more complicated. In that case, you'll need to tear down the bike from the top, removing the airbox and other components to reach the pulse generator. Ensure you have the necessary tools and expertise before attempting this procedure to avoid any complications.

Issues with LCD Screen, Air Pump, and Cruise Control

Our viewer, Jimmy Pitchery Petrie, wants to address an issue related to the LCD screen, air pump, and cruise control on his bike. Although he didn't mention the model, we'll assume he has a Goldwing 1500. The air pump and LCD screen are interconnected, with the LCD controlling the air pump. If either one fails, the other will also stop functioning. Start by checking the ACC fuse, as it powers these components. Additionally, inspect the common ground point, G100, located on the frame just above the dipstick. If the ground point is faulty, it can cause all three systems to malfunction.
